Lindsie Chrisley’s Ex-Boyfriend David Landsman Indicted on Aggravated Assault and False Imprisonment Charges

David Landsman, the former boyfriend of reality television personality Lindsie Chrisley, has been indicted on multiple charges stemming from an alleged April 2026 incident involving Chrisley.

According to court records obtained by PEOPLE, a Cherokee County grand jury returned an indictment against Landsman on Aug. 10, charging him with two counts of aggravated assault, one count of false imprisonment and one count of battery.

The charges relate to an alleged confrontation on April 10, 2026, during which prosecutors say Landsman assaulted Chrisley and prevented her from leaving.

The indictment alleges that Landsman applied pressure to Chrisley’s throat and neck and also forcibly threw her to the ground.

According to the court filing, the alleged incident left Chrisley with injuries that included bruising, lacerations and bleeding from her head.

Landsman has been charged, but the allegations have not been proven in court.

According to the indictment cited by PEOPLE, Landsman is accused of “applying pressure to the throat and neck” of Chrisley during the April incident.

The filing describes Chrisley as having suffered “substantial physical harm,” including bruises, cuts and bleeding.

Among the charges is false imprisonment, which is connected to allegations that Chrisley was prevented from leaving during the confrontation.

Chrisley’s Representative Asks for Privacy

Following news of the indictment, a representative for Chrisley issued a statement to PEOPLE emphasizing that she is prioritizing her personal well-being and her family.

The representative also clarified that Chrisley herself did not contact authorities about the alleged incident.

“She did not contact law enforcement regarding this matter and is focused on herself and her family during this incredibly difficult and deeply personal time,” the representative said.

The statement added that Chrisley does not intend to publicly discuss the circumstances while the case remains active.

“Out of respect for the ongoing legal process, she will not be commenting further on the circumstances at this time,” the representative continued.

“We respectfully ask that her privacy be honored and that she and her family be given the space and compassion to navigate this privately.”

The statement reflects Chrisley’s decision to avoid discussing details of the allegations while legal proceedings continue.

Landsman Was Arrested in April

Landsman was previously arrested in April 2026 on charges of misdemeanor battery and felony aggravated assault involving strangulation.

He was booked into the Cherokee County Jail, according to an arrest warrant affidavit obtained by PEOPLE.

The affidavit described an alleged confrontation in which Landsman placed his right hand around another person’s neck and “applied pressure.”

According to the document, he allegedly told the person they were “not going anywhere.”

Authorities charged Landsman with aggravated assault on the basis that the alleged conduct involved an object, device or instrument that, when used offensively, could cause or result in strangulation.

The affidavit also alleged that Landsman pushed the person out of a residence in Woodstock, Georgia.

The person allegedly fell backward and struck their head on concrete.

Police said the alleged victim was bleeding from a head laceration following the fall.

The subsequent grand jury indictment now formally accuses Landsman of multiple offenses connected to the same alleged incident.

Chrisley Faced Her Own Legal Trouble the Following Month

Approximately six weeks after Landsman’s arrest, Chrisley was arrested in a separate and unrelated incident.

On May 23, authorities arrested the former Chrisley Knows Best personality on suspicion of several driving-related offenses.

Those allegations included driving under the influence, attempting to elude police, improper passing, reckless driving and speeding.

Chrisley later spoke to TMZ about the circumstances surrounding the traffic stop.

She said she had been speeding around another vehicle on a two-lane road after the other driver nearly struck an animal.

According to Chrisley, she was attempting to avoid hitting the vehicle and whatever animal had entered the roadway.

She also said she intended to challenge the charges.

The May arrest is separate from the criminal case involving Landsman.

Chrisley and Landsman’s Relationship Became Public in 2025

Chrisley was first publicly linked to Landsman in 2025.

Their relationship became more visible after she shared photographs of the two attending a Savannah Bananas game together.

By July 2025, Chrisley had made another notable personal decision connected to the relationship.

She changed her surname on social media from Chrisley to Landsman.

At the time, the move led some followers to wonder whether the couple had secretly married.

Chrisley later clarified on her podcast, The Southern Tea, that they were not married.

“We are not married,” she said.

She described the relationship at the time as one that gave both her and her son, Jackson, a sense of stability.

“[We] have built a safe and loving relationship that allows for stability in my life and in Jackson’s life,” she said.

Chrisley also explained that adopting Landsman’s surname publicly represented something personal to her beyond the relationship itself.

“For a long time, I battled with carrying my maiden last name,” she said.

She described the decision as an effort to create a new chapter in her life.

“Choosing to change my name to Landsman truly was about reclaiming my peace and stepping into my future that is defined by love.”

She has since removed the Landsman surname from her social media accounts.

The indictment presents a stark contrast to how Chrisley publicly described her relationship with Landsman less than a year earlier.

In 2025, she spoke about feeling secure and supported in the relationship and connected the name change to peace, stability and a new beginning.

Now, four months later, a grand jury has formally indicted him on aggravated assault, false imprisonment and battery charges.
