Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Rashod Bateman was arrested in Georgia following an alleged confrontation involving the mother of his child, during which authorities say he broke the window of a vehicle while the woman and the couple’s 3-month-old baby were inside.

The alleged incident occurred in Walton County, Georgia, at approximately 6 a.m. on June 3, according to court documents obtained by TMZ and ESPN.

Bateman, 26, was later taken into custody on charges of battery, reckless conduct and damage to property, according to a booking report provided by the Walton County Sheriff’s Office.

The allegations concern an early-morning dispute between Bateman and the mother of his child. According to arrest documents cited by TMZ, Bateman allegedly used an object to smash the driver’s-side window of the woman’s vehicle while she was sitting inside.

Authorities who investigated the incident later reported seeing broken glass as well as injuries on the woman’s face, according to the court documents.

“We will let the court process play out, and the facts will come out at that time,” Siev added.

Neither Siev nor the Baltimore Ravens immediately responded to PEOPLE’s request for additional comment.

Baltimore Ravens Say They Are Cooperating With the NFL

The Baltimore Ravens have acknowledged that they are aware of Bateman’s arrest and the pending legal case.

In a statement to TMZ, a spokesperson for the franchise said the organization had been communicating directly with the wide receiver about the situation.

“We are aware of the situation involving Rashod and have been in direct communication with him,” the spokesperson said.

The Ravens also said they informed the NFL league office about the matter and have cooperated with the league as the case proceeds.

“We notified the league office and have been cooperating throughout the process,” the team said.

Because Bateman’s case remains pending, however, the Ravens indicated that they do not plan to discuss the allegations further at this stage.

“As this is a pending legal matter, we will not have further comment,” the spokesperson added.

ESPN reported that the NFL is also reviewing the situation.

The league has policies allowing it to investigate allegations involving players independently from the criminal justice process. No league discipline involving Bateman was announced in the reports cited.

Bateman Has Spent His Entire NFL Career in Baltimore
