Michael Strahan Reportedly Welcomes Baby No. 5, His First Child with Longtime Girlfriend Kayla Quick

Michael Strahan has reportedly expanded his family once again.

The Good Morning America co-anchor and former NFL star, 54, has welcomed his fifth child — and his first baby with longtime girlfriend Kayla Quick, 37 — according to a report from TMZ. The outlet reported that the couple welcomed a baby girl earlier in 2026, although Strahan and Quick have not publicly announced the birth themselves.

The new arrival marks another major chapter in Strahan’s life as a father. He already has four adult children from his previous marriages: daughter Tanita, 34, son Michael Jr., 31, and twin daughters Isabella and Sophia, both 21.

Strahan shares Tanita and Michael Jr. with his first wife, Wanda Hutchins. He later welcomed Isabella and Sophia with his second wife, Jean Muggli.

Despite spending decades in the public eye as an NFL star, television personality and media figure, Strahan has generally tried to keep certain aspects of his family life private. His relationship with Quick has been especially low-key.

Strahan and Quick have reportedly been together since 2015, making their relationship more than a decade long. Still, the couple has rarely discussed their romance publicly and has never revealed many details about how they first met.

Quick is a co-founder of FIZZNESS, a wellness supplement company. Although she has occasionally appeared alongside Strahan at major events, she has largely stayed away from the intense celebrity spotlight surrounding the former New York Giants defensive end.

One of the couple’s more notable public appearances came in 2023, when Quick accompanied Strahan as he received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The ceremony celebrated his extensive career, which has included success both on the football field and in television.

Quick has also been present for important milestones involving Strahan’s children. She attended the high school graduation of his twin daughters, Isabella and Sophia, showing her involvement in his close-knit family life even as the couple continued to keep their relationship mostly private.

For Strahan, fatherhood has long been one of the most important parts of his identity.

In a 2016 interview with PEOPLE, the former professional football player spoke about raising a blended family and explained just how much his children meant to him.

“My kids give me strength,” Strahan said at the time. “I love being with the kids. To me, it’s all about family, now more than anything.”

His dedication to fatherhood was formally recognized the following year. In 2017, Strahan received a Father of the Year Award from The National Father’s Day Committee.

Speaking to PEOPLE about the honor, Strahan reflected on the emotional highs and challenges that come with raising children.

“I love being a father,” he said. “It’s absolutely the most joy you’re going to have in your life. It’s also the most stress you’re going to have.”

Those words became particularly meaningful several years later when Strahan and his family faced a frightening health crisis involving his daughter Isabella.

In late 2023, Isabella was diagnosed with medulloblastoma, a malignant brain tumor that typically develops in the cerebellum, the area of the brain located near the base of the skull.

Her diagnosis became a deeply emotional period for the entire family.

Isabella eventually spoke publicly about her treatment experience, while Strahan also opened up about the difficulty of watching his daughter go through such a serious medical battle.

In January 2025, Strahan told PEOPLE that throughout Isabella’s illness, he tried to maintain hope and search for something positive amid an extremely challenging situation.

He said he continued trying “to find the silver lining somewhere,” believing that there had to be “some light at the end of the tunnel.”

Fortunately, Isabella ultimately reached a major milestone in her recovery.

In June 2024, she completed her final round of chemotherapy and later shared that she was cancer-free. The development brought tremendous relief to the Strahan family after months of surgeries, treatment and uncertainty.

The experience also appeared to reinforce Strahan’s longstanding emphasis on family.

Throughout his career, he has frequently spoken about trying to remain present for his children despite a demanding professional schedule.

Before becoming one of American television’s most recognizable morning-show personalities, Strahan spent 15 seasons playing defensive end for the New York Giants. He became one of the franchise’s most celebrated players and helped the Giants defeat the previously undefeated New England Patriots in Super Bowl XLII following the 2007 season.

After retiring from football, Strahan transitioned successfully into television.

He became a co-host of Live! with Kelly and Michael before later joining Good Morning America. Over the years, he has also worked on NFL television coverage and hosted programs including The $100,000 Pyramid.

Yet despite his highly visible career, Strahan’s personal life with Quick has remained comparatively private.

The two have not regularly posted about their relationship, nor have they made a habit of attending every major celebrity event together. Their relatively discreet approach has made reports of their first child together especially notable.

According to TMZ, the couple welcomed a daughter earlier this year. No additional details about the child, including her name or exact birth date, were immediately made public in the report.

Neither Strahan nor Quick has publicly provided further information about the baby.

The reported birth would make Strahan a father of five, with a substantial age difference between his newest child and his four adult children.

His eldest daughter, Tanita, is 34, while Michael Jr. is 31. Twins Isabella and Sophia are both 21.
