So, when headlines erupted suggesting the 53-year-old presenter was finally hanging up his microphone, it sent viewers into a tailspin.
Social media feeds were quickly flooded with questions from fans demanding to know why the primetime TV veteran was stepping aside.
But before you start writing your goodbyes, it’s time to set the record straight – he isn’t leaving the main show.
Is Carson Daly leaving The Voice?
No, Carson Daly is not leaving the main show.
The confusion stems from a major announcement made by NBC regarding the franchise’s future.
Instead of simply airing a standard “Season 31” in Spring 2027, the network is pulling off a format pivot, and NBC will premiere The Voice: Celebrity.
This brand-new extension of the franchise swaps out undiscovered hopefuls for established famous faces.
Actors, athletes, reality stars, and influencers will take the stage to see if they can turn the famous red chairs during the Blind Auditions.
It is this specific spin-off that Carson Daly is stepping back from hosting, not the main show.
Who is taking over from Daly?
When it came to finding a presenter for The Voice: Celebrity, Daly was the first to admit that a fresh approach was needed.
Addressing fan confusion on Instagram, the presenter explained that he felt he was “not the right host” for the Hollywood-heavy iteration.
Rather than holding on to the mic for every format, Daly has publicly welcomed his successor, Emmy-winning presenter and actress Keke Palmer.
Calling the 32-year-old a “triple threat queen” who is “perfect” for the gig, Daly made it clear there is zero drama behind the scenes.
“I’m so grateful she carved out the time in her busy career to help us out,” Daly said. “We’re all big fans and welcome her to the family.”
What is Carson’s future on The Voice?
When asked if he was exiting The Voice, Daly offered a direct and resounding “Nope.”
He reminded fans that he has hosted and produced “every single second of the show since day 1” across 30 seasons.
Daly remains locked in to present the traditional Season 30, which premieres on Monday, September 21.
He will be joined by returning coaches Adam Levine and Kelly Clarkson, alongside new additions Queen Latifah and Riley Green.
Even when The Voice: Celebrity launches next year, Daly won’t be far away.
He remains an executive producer across the franchise and is actively involved in launching the celeb edition from behind the scenes.
While NBC has yet to confirm hosting assignments for future “traditional” cycles, Daly is widely expected to return to the flagship show.
